What?

As a logistics consultant for a local business, I was tasked with optimizing the floor plan to allow for maximum storage, convinient access and maneuverability of a forklift within the floor plan whiel also complying with Ontario warehousing safety specifications.

How?

Using some basic measurement tools and SolidWorks, I was able to make an accurate model of my client's floor plan and include any possible obstacles such as overhead heaters, supporting beams, fire escapes and electrical boxes.

Results

By applying the constraints for forklift manueverabilty and safety, I was able to produce a costing strategy that surpassed the income he would get from renting out the space by roughly 25%. Following his approval, I began to market the solution and offer the storage space to local businesses.
